Swamped

Well, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm pretty tied up at the moment. My life should be back to normal on Wednesday, when all of the boxes are moved to my new home up in rural northern Germany (eek!) and my DSL connection is up and running like the Telekom promises it will be...I do apologize for my lack of posting, and I've been saving some stuff to post when the time comes. In the meantime, check out the latest in environmental infamy at the hands of Uncle Sam: the exporting of pollutant-laden "ghost ships" to be scrapped at international demolition sites. Sheesh, I thought it was only ugly multinationals like Formosa and Alcoa who liked to dump their glowy chemicals on lesser regulated lands...

Recognizing the power of the erotic within our lives can give us the energy to pursue genuine change within our world, rather than merely settling for a shift of characters in the same weary drama.

We should admit, rather, that power produces knowledge...; that power and knowledge directly imply one another; that there is no power relation without the correlative constitution of a field of knowledge, nor any knowledge that does not presuppose and constitute at the same time power relations.
